Jeh Aerospace Bags $11 Mn From Elevation, General Catalyst

Aerospace manufacturer Jeh Aerospace has raised $11 Mn (around INR 100 Cr) in a Series A funding round led by Elevation Capital, with participation from existing investor General Catalyst. 

The startup plans to deploy the fresh proceeds to build mega factories and advance its manufacturing capabilities for scalable production.

Jeh Aerospace is following an advanced approach to manufacturing via software, AI and automation to deliver high-quality aerospace components on time. It has also trained its engineers and technicians to improve the new product introduction (NPI) time. The startup claims that its facilities have reduced the NPI by 10 times compared to traditional aerospace setups.

The funding comes a month after the Hyderabad-based startup raised an undisclosed amount from Indigo’s venture capital arm Indigo Ventures. 

Founded in 2022 by Sanghavi and Venkatesh Mudragalla, Jeh Aerospace manufactures components of jet engines and also develops aerostructures. The startup specialises in build-to-print manufacturing and has expertise in high-precision drilling, coldworking processes and wire harness assembly. 

Apart from that, the startup also offers additional services such as painting, anodising and non-destructive testing to clients.

Both Sanghavi and Mudragalla have a combined experience of more than three decades in the aerospace industry. Mudragalla has served as the head of programme management and operations at Tata Sikorsky Aerospace, while Sanghavi is the former COO of Tata Boeing Aerospace.

Jeh Aerospace claims to have secured long term contracts worth $100 Mn from global companies. 

Prior to this round, the startup had raised $2.8 Mn in total funding from the likes of  General Catalyst, Pratyush Kumar and Dwarakanath Srinivasan. On the financial front, Jeh Aerospace recorded a net loss of INR 25 Lakh in FY24 on an operating revenue of INR 88 Lakh, as per data sourced from Tofler.
