AI-led B2B ecommerce platform WizCommerce has raised $8 Mn (around INR 70 Cr)  in a Series A funding round led by Peak XV Partners.

The round also saw participation from Blume Ventures, Z47 and Alpha Wave.

The startup plans to deploy the fresh proceeds for hiring marketing and sales professionals in both India and the US, while also strengthening its focus on product, technology, and AI to drive its overseas expansion.

Founded in 2020 by former executive of Bessemer Venture Partners Divyaanshu Makkar and former Zomato executive Vikas Garg, WizCommerce is an AI-powered platform helping B2B wholesalers, distributors, and manufacturers streamline their sales cycle from lead capture to payments, inventory and invoicing. The startup is currently hiring across engineering, AI, product, and GTM roles, with hubs in India and the US.

“On the marketing front, we want to expand our team in the US, so we are hiring marketing and sales talent in the US and doubling down there on the product and technology side,” said Makkar.

B2B Ecommerce Expansion Fuels New Avenues For Growth

India’s B2B ecommerce market is witnessing a strong momentum, driven by digital adoption, rising mobile penetration and favourable policy support. Also, the global B2B ecommerce market dwarfs its B2C counterpart, with estimates pegging its value at over $20 Tn. The shift is being accelerated by digital marketplaces, with buyers expecting seamless and consumer-like purchasing journeys.

Shopify has been quick to adapt to this evolution. Originally known for enabling B2C sellers, the company has entered B2B ecommerce to address the massive potential in the market. It enables businesses to digitise their sales while keeping operations simple with features like wholesale pricing, custom catalogues, bulk order management, and integrated payments.

Many wholesalers and distributors require deeper customisation around order cycles, credit terms, multi-party approvals, and salesforce management—areas where traditional ecommerce platforms often fall short. This gap has opened opportunities for specialised players like Wizcommerce, which are building tailor-made solutions for B2B sales digitisation.

Earlier this year, IPO- bound B2B ecommerce major Udaan marked the final close of its Series G funding round at $114 Mn.
