Initially known for its zero-brokerage model, the unicorn democratised retail investing in India. By 2024, Zerodha's AMC arm surpassed INR 4,000 crore in AUM, with over 1.6 crore users. The company launched trading on margin, introduced a user privacy mode, and announced a fund to support open-source tech initiatives. With a revenue of Rs 9,994.49 Cr in FY24, Zerodha competes with companies including IndMoney, Groww and Upstox.
