AstroSure Looks To Crack The Cosmic Code With AI As Its Guiding Light

SUMMARY

Astrotech startup AstroSure AI blends Vedic astrology with AI, offering instant kundali readings, panchang, and wellness tools via its chatbot Agastyaa

Founded in 2024 by former Miss India World Vanya Mishra and Hatim Kantawalla, it targets the GenZ and millennials with subscription-based spiritual tech services

AstroSure claims to have a 1.8 Mn-strong user base with nearly 72% repeat customers and has raised $6 Mn in seed funding

Of all that never ceased to haunt humanity, the biggest has been the quest to know the future.

It’s basic evolutionary learning that we try to seek an order in life to preempt a threat, prepare to face it, and work to prevent it. The more predictable and structured the world around us is, the more we know about ourselves and the more secure we feel. Astrology claims to be doing exactly this. Little wonder, it is so appealing even to those who claim they don’t believe in it. That’s where the line dividing science and faith blurs out.

“Unlike traditional astrology, which relies on subjective interpretation and intuition or basic software, AI makes astrological guidance faster and more accurate,” former Femina Miss India World Vanya Mishra told Inc42. Her startup AstroSure AI recently made a foray into India’s $163 Mn app-based astrology market that’s scaling at over 49% a year to reach $1.8 Bn by 2030.

In fact, AI has brought thousands of years old oriental astrology into the realms of tech-age spirituality. “I pitch myself more as a spiritual therapist, a 3AM friend, a constant companion, where quality is logic,” Mishra’s brainchild finds itself in a $58.6 Bn spiritual tech landscape crowded by astrotech startups like Astrotalk, AstroSage AI, InstaAstro and Astroyogi.

With AstroSure AI, founders Vanya Mishra and Hatim Kantawalla aimed to build a spiritual experience for their consumers through a “more logical approach” to old astrology practices and help in their emotional well-being through various remedies offered by Vedic astrology. The communication with the user is done on their AI chatbot Agastyaa.

“A 1.8 Mn-strong user base with nearly 72% repeat customers – all in barely one year of existence. The numbers speak for our success,” Mishra said. The startup raised its $6 Mn seed funding from Netmeds founder Pradeep Dadha and a host of undisclosed investors in January this year.

How AstroSure Cracks The Cosmic Code In An AI-Powered Market

GenZ’s Growing Obsession For The Zodiac

What’s the first thing a GenZ does after a New Year’s Eve? She checks out the predictions for the new year based on her zodiac sign, well, almost by default.

At least 51% Indian youths seek astrological insights every day and 88% read horoscopes every week, said a study by astrotech startup Numrovani. The integration of AI, complemented by social media marketing, struck the right chord with this tech-savvy generation. It gives GenZs and millennials a framework to reflect on their core strengths and helps them pave the way for their desires to negotiate likely hurdles.

“They expect guidance that is instant, unbiased, and affordable… This isn’t just about disruption, it’s also about shaping a new category where technology and spirituality converge,” Mishra said.

AstroSure amalgamates an AI-based astrologer and wellness offerings and includes a repository of mantras, chalisas, and healing sounds. While the startup claims that its Agastyaa chatbot gives astrological answers to users’ worries around career, love life, marriage and much more, it also leverages technology to make daily panchangs (Hindu almanac). It can be something as simple as aligning your energies and balancing your mind. At AstroSure AI, we make astrology, spirituality and wellness converge,” she said.

Built on OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini, Agastyaa is trained with Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, the OG (original gangster, by the language the GenZ speaks) book for astrology. The platform provides a customised interface to its users, with their kundalis, daily schedules and cosmic reports being ready based on Vedic astrology.

We’re trying to reinvent the traditional through new age, modern. We want to give logic to everything.”

Clairvoyance, Charlatans And Technology

Human brains constantly generate predictions as integral to survival, anticipating danger and potential harms, as well as assessing future growth.

Horoscopes, or kundali as it is called in Vedic astrology, provide a patina of order, boundaries and sequence that help us draw a pattern to predict the future. The question remains: How accurate is it?

In this mystic world of clairvoyance, it’s hard to distinguish between a charlatan and a crackjacker. AstroSure doesn’t foretell the future – it helps an individual read the alignment of stars and tide over the cosmic challenges.

“Our roadmap extends beyond astrology, with tarot, numerology, and diverse spiritual practices soon to be integrated – all designed to provide deeper perspectives and more accurate answers,” Mishra said.

A user needs to enter details regarding her birth date, time and place. And, voila! She has her daily schedule of what should be done when to attract the most divine luck. From transforming traditional astrologers into tech-savvy astrology service providers to reading kundalis – AI has been integrated  across the system.

To provide a personalised experience to its consumers, AstroSure asks for personal information such as name, date of birth, time of birth, location of birth and sometimes the present location. Being very young, the dataset the startup handles is relatively small, but it is guarded with heightened security.

“We use encryption, secure servers, and other appropriate security measures. However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure,” the company’s privacy policy claimed.

How Aligned Are Astrosure’s Stars

The platform was launched in January 2025 as a free model with no usage barrier. Users could simply enter their details and access all the services on offer. The subscription-based model came in late April 2025 when the startup saw traction.

With a monthly subscription fee of INR 189 and a yearly fee of INR 999, AstroSure claims to be offering more services under a premium membership than a free account. Within three months of rolling out the subscription fee, AstroSure has a 6% transition rate from unpaid to premium account customers.

Most of AstroSure’s key services, including unlimited questions to Agastyaa, 30-day chat history and compatibility check with multiple profiles, are behind the paywall. While the company claims that a majority of its users have enjoyed the free model, it is yet to be seen if they are ready to pay for it.

AstroSure AI has spread across Delhi, Chennai and Goa with nearly 40 employees working towards aligning technology with stars.

Astrotech, Spiritual Tech And AI Boom

Age-old human practices like spirituality and astrology remained on the wrong side of rationality until they proliferated digitally. The result is a booming $392 Bn global market, accelerating at 7.5% a year to reach $700 Bn by 2033.

As debate swirls around what truly sets astrotech and spiritual tech startups apart, one question keeps coming up: If global users can turn to LLMs like ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini, which again underpin many of these apps, what can specialised spiritual platforms offer that generic AI chatbots can’t?

While AI offers a more accessible and practical approach to spirituality and astrology, LLMs like ChatGPT require repetitive and accurate prompts to understand the requirements.

Punit Pandey, whose AstroSage AI competes directly with AstroSure AI, has seen the whole transition of technology revolutionising India’s $7 Bn market for astrology, as an expert in both astrology and coding, told Inc42: “We all have a brain with 86 Bn neurons, but how are we so different from each other? Your learning is very different from my learning. It is all about how you train your AI.”
